Caramelized Onion Demi-Glace

Brew a caramelized onion demi-glace without chopping a single onion.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 1/2 c THRIVE Onion Slices + 2/4 cups of water
- 333/1000 c Sherry Cooking Wine
- 1/2 tsp THRIVE Chef's Choice
- 1/2 tsp Peppercorn
- 1 tbsp THRIVE Italian Seasoning Blend
- 2 c Water
- 333/1000 c THRIVE Espagnole (Savory Beef Gravy)
- 1 tsp Garlic, minced
Directions
- Reconstitute the onions with the water.
- Add in garlic and saute/
- Deglaze the pan with Sherry.
- Simmer down by half.
- Add in the seasonings and stir.
- Add water and bring to a simmer, then whisk in the Espagnole sauce.
- Take off heat and swirl in remaining tbsp. of butter to finish.
- You can strain or leave onions in, according to your desire.
