Follow-up recipe for Tuscan Beef Pappardelle

  1. In a small sauce pot on medium heat, add butter and garlic and sweat for 1-2 minutes. Add in the water, beef, tomatoes, onions, Italian seasoning, kale, mushrooms, salt and pepper and bring to a simmer.
  2. Once at a simmer add in the tomato sauce and stir. Simmer for 3-4 minutes or until liquid is gone.
  3. Place 4 buns, open faced, on half size sheet pan. Add about a tablespoon of mayo on the top half of the bun followed by 2 slices of cheese. Add a tablespoon of Dijon mustard on the bottom half of the bun. Place 1/4 of the meat mixture on each bottom bun and top with a slice of cheese. Repeat process for all 4 sandwiches.
  4. Broil, open faced, in oven until cheese is bubbly and golden brown, about 3 minutes.
